M1.2 Tap Roll form Plug also call thread forming Tap; Thread pitch .25mm, to DIN standards Shank 1.5mm made from hardened high speed steel with TiN coating. Our Roll form taps are designed create the thread by forming the material rather than cutting, the roll form plug produces no burrs or chips in production taping. Often well suited for materials like aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel in the 300 series in part production on automatic screw machines, CNC mills and lathes. The coating used TiN (Titanium Nitride) very thin and smooth, increases tap performance and tool life. In our shop TiN coated taps typically tapped three times the number of holes.
